Welcome! We are a Christian family who cares for elderly individuals in our home. There are so many quotes, stories, and photos that we wanted to share with our precious "Golden Girls'" families, which they could view quicker and could be updated easier on this blog than we would ever have time (and memory!) to share with them personally. We also thought others might enjoy reading and viewing along with the families on this great adventure of their loved ones' golden sunset years. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with us and "The Grandmas"!

Happy, Happy Birthday...

So this post is quite a bit late in the writing, however as the old saying goes, Better late than never!

Tuesday, November 10th, our sweet little "honey bunch" turned the ripe old age of 3!!  We celebrated by having a picnic at the park, thanks to the Lord for a beautiful day.  Some good friends stopped by to bring her gifts and goodies, making the day extra special!  The big party day wasn't until Sunday, however, so we could all celebrate as a family with grandparents and all!  What a week it was...we partied hard, laughed loud, and ate good!

First thing birthday morn, I opened our closet door to find Johanna dressing herself as she is "now a big girl".

Birthday Breakfast

Mrs. W. gave Johanna a lovely book; see the focus?

Here we go, to party hard!  It's birthday time!  Watch out!  Here I come!

Vanessa curled her hair; isn't it adorable?

Say, "Cheese!"

"I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it!"

The Three Stooges... :)

More Stooges...

Guess what was for lunch??

We have the benefit of a Grandma living with us...how blessed Johanna is to be able to grow up with her Grandma.

In the mouth, around the tongue...

...look out tummy!  Here it comes!

Running off all excess grease...we probably should still be running...we're not. :)

The ladies lounging about the lawn.

Don't you love the ringlets?  "To perfume and makeup, from ribbons and curls..."

Fun at the park

Yes, we're still children at heart! lol

"Mama's little baby loves shortnin', shortnin', Mamma's little baby loves shortnin' bread..."

Thanks, Mom for having me! Love you bunches! ~ Johanna

Can't guess the excitement?  Next stop...Braum's ice cream!

I think we got the whole gang in there...some cut off heads and partial face shots...but hey, we're there!

The Chronicles of Braum's

Tuckered out birthday girl smiles for yet another photo.

Mamie surprised us all with lovely gifts & delectable cupcakes!

Mrs. W. &  "Tator-tot" blessed Johanna tremendously!

Grandma June gave the birthday girl loads of books!

Day 5

Long day, long week...birthday fun is done, now it's time to go to sleep...

"What a blessing the Lord has given us!  These past three years have truly been exceptional.  From Johanna's birth to her first steps, to the gentle way she strokes our Grandmas' faces and gives sweet little pecks on the cheeks, elbows, and foreheads, we thank the Lord for this precious gift!" ~ Mommy
