Welcome! We are a Christian family who cares for elderly individuals in our home. There are so many quotes, stories, and photos that we wanted to share with our precious "Golden Girls'" families, which they could view quicker and could be updated easier on this blog than we would ever have time (and memory!) to share with them personally. We also thought others might enjoy reading and viewing along with the families on this great adventure of their loved ones' golden sunset years. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with us and "The Grandmas"!

May Days

We're coming to the end of June, folks! And you know what that means...the warm and green days of May have come to an end and  blistering summer days are ahead of us.
In light of that, it's nice to look back at pictures and relive the memories last month had to offer.

These cutie pies stayed with us for part of a week while their parents went on a cruise...we sure had fun!

Grandma Margarete got a kick out of the extra girly laughter and chatter

Swing time

Warm weather = cook-outs!

Grillin' themselves some hot diggity dogs

Grandma Lorry enjoyed the evening outside

What's a campfire without marshmallows?

Our lovely Grandmas looking forward to their s'mores!

It takes great concentration to make the perfect roasted marshmallow

Can you tell she's enjoying herself?

Sticky and happy!

Yum, so good

Margarete says farewell for the evening

These two hit it off so well! Looking pretty!

All the Grandmas love having kids in the house

An afternoon with Mrs. Patty and her mama

And a visit from our wonderful nurse, Ms. Susie

Smiley Margarete

Our garden, which Vanessa and Johanna have worked hard on, is looking good!

And He was saying, "The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil; and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows - how, he himself does not know. The soil produces crops by itself; first the blad, then the head, then the mature grain in the head. But when the crop permits, he immediately puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come." -Mark 4:26-29

Bella, enjoying the breeze...

...and sunshine

Johanna dressed Grandma Margarete up for a walk in the neighborhood

Can you tell Margarete got a kick out of it? :)

We love you so much Margarete! You keep us laughing

Toward the end of the month Grandma Glenys joined our home!

After nap time one day, the Grandmas passed the baby dolls around and had some cuddle time

Grandma Glenys snuggled with Lorry's baby, Kathi

Grandma Margarete loved on Johanna's baby, Elizabeth

And Grandma Lorry enjoyed the frilliness of our precious Junebug's baby, Abby (which the M.s graciously gave to Johanna!)

Matching loverlies

We get lots of sweet visits from Grandma Glenys' family

Gettin' her some sugar :)

This is just two sets of Glenys' large family (she has seven kids!): Mr. Dale D., Mrs. Natalia V., Mr. Glen V., Grandma Glenys and Mrs. Sherry D.

Visiting

Making memories...

...and beautiful music

We are so thankful for Grandma Glenys and the wonderful children/grandchildren we get to know!

On May 25th we had a little cake celebration for Dad and Mom's 29th anniversary

Even after all these years, they're still pros at cake cutting :)

Had these sweet pumpkins over!

Dad and Mom went out for their anniversary dinner while Laci and her kiddos stayed and partied with us girls!

Happy 29th! Thank you, Dad and Mom, for living out a godly marriage for us girls to follow one day.

And look! They even took a selfie! So cute ;)

Conversations with the ladies

Howdy from Lorrybell!

Hello from Margarete Helena!

Hi from Mama Glenys!

Johanna has been showing Grandma Glenys some exercise routines

Ms. Shirley, the youngest of Grandma Glenys' children, comes over quite often as well!

Coffee and conversations are the best :)

Pull up a (wheel)chair and be serenaded!

Behind the scenes of our family pictures

Sister selfie

It's not often we all get out together but boy we sure had a good time!

Later that evening we went out to dinner with this super special couple!

Tickle, tickle!

Johanna just started taking art lessons from a friend from church

So excited!

Working on a van Gogh masterpiece

Produce from the garden. This is one of Johanna's specialties - bell pepper boats with diced radishes ;)

It's so nice that Glenys has family close by!

Sweet times with Mrs. Sherry

Look who came for a visit! Mr. John (below) believes it was only a rat snake, but we were not going anywhere near this 4' reptile!

We had the D. family over for dinner

Mrs. Ashley, Tallon and Mom chattin' away

Dinner time!

Campfire conversations

Time for s'mores!

The ladies, enjoying their sticky dessert

Mr. John serenaded us on the piano

Serenity, Johanna, Francesca, Mrs. Ashley and I (oh and Bella snuck her way in there ;)

Going on a walk

Kissy kissy!

Ms. Shirley and Mrs. Sherry came over for a visit

Don't you love their color-coordination?

Balloon toss!

The last day of May at some friends' house, this stunning rainbow made its way out of the dark sky (actually there are two rainbows...can you spot the other one?)
