Welcome! We are a Christian, home-school family who cares for elderly individuals in our home. There are so many quotes, stories, and photos that we wanted to share with our precious "Golden Girls'" families, which they could view quicker and could be updated easier on this blog than we would ever have time (and memory!) to share with them personally. We also thought others might enjoy reading and viewing along with the families on this great adventure of their loved ones' golden sunset years. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with us and "The Grandmas"!

If you would like to learn more about our business/ministry,
or just have some questions or ideas, please feel free to give us a holler! ☺

February {Part 3}

Hi everyone! Here we are again, a week from my last part in this series and I'm doing pretty good at staying on-track, in-time and altogether un-procrastinated {no, that is not an approved, Merriam-Webster dictionary term; however I am compiling my very own, ever-expanding version of the dictionary which will use a whole new assortment of  "Kaitlinological" words -- and I'm even considering inserting a few blank sheets in the back for each owners' creative list of unconventional terminology.☺ Now wouldn't that be something...).

Enjoy!

Baking/Crafting Day

February {Part 2}

February 14th came around before we knew it and it was yet again time for more partying, chocolates and flowers. Since Dad is the only man around here he has quite a few Valentines he shows appreciation to. However, the return from us ladies is usually quite balanced in it's giving, what with baked goods (chocolate goods, that is) to show our own love for him.

What does a lovely bouquet of flowers mean?? Valentine's Day, of course!

We made our own version of cake balls...and they were delicious and super easy!

The wonderful chef with her masterpiece of Italian garlic knots

The gang was all there...

...the meal was all dished out...
(consisting of lasagna, garlic knots, steamed corn & tossed salad)

...so it was time to dig in!

We were all suddenly surprised by beautiful bouquets!

One lovely arrangement for each of us

It seemed we had a secret admirer...

...and he was really fond of each one of us.

Can you guess who the sweet man was?

Ah-ha! The man with the fancy tie! (btw, Dad wears that every Valentine's Day)

Our table suddenly became an aromatic floral jungle

We had our own surprises...for Dad - heart-shaped German chocolate cake (and he ate it all by himself, though not in one day ☺).

Little Miss Fur-ball over in the pillows feeling sorry for herself

Hope everyone else had as sweet a day as we did!

What has been made

...For since the creation of the world
{God's} invisible attributes,
His eternal power and divine nature,
have been clearly seen, being understood through
what has been made...

February {Part 1}

We had a very full and fun February! It always is and it probably always will be due to the birthdays and holidays that seem to come quite regularly every.single.year. ☺

I decided to space out our past month's happenings into several posts in order to keep us all from falling asleep at the monitor from an hour of reading in one sitting. Besides, what better way is there to give me more time to prepare subsequent posts? ☺

Well, here's Part 1 with fun days with the B. girls and three birthdays. Enjoy!

Johanna has so much fun with her friends

On our way to the mall...

...at the mall ☺

Off to the park!

After rounding the pond on bikes, posing for the camera

Attempting to keep from falling in the frigid water...

...and have fun at the same time

Dinner with the rest of the family

All dolled-up for church! We had fun with you, girls!

Then, on Feb. 6th somebody had to go on and grow up...

Birthday dinner: Papa John's...

...and Mrs. Smith's Blackberry Cobbler

Birthday massage...wait, who's birthday is it anyhow?

Vanessa then had to turn another year older on Feb. 8th. Why isn't she in the picture with her b-day breakfast? Let's just say she's not a morning person ☺(btw, neither am I. But as the cook I kinda had to be awake)

Yummiliciousness...White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake

Beautiful; inside and out

...And just a tad bit strange, I might add.

18 years old! Just can't believe how fast the time has gone. Love you, V-ster!

On Feb. 11th Grandma Lorry turned...83!

We had a small family party on her birthday since...

...her celebration had taken place a few days before.

Vanessa and I took a day to go out to eat and an evening symphony orchestra.

And the Lord blessed us with a new 8-passenger vehicle! Just the right shade for Valentine's Day...which brings us to Part 2 of our February 2012... coming soon!
