Welcome! We are a Christian family who cares for elderly individuals in our home. There are so many quotes, stories, and photos that we wanted to share with our precious "Golden Girls'" families, which they could view quicker and could be updated easier on this blog than we would ever have time (and memory!) to share with them personally. We also thought others might enjoy reading and viewing along with the families on this great adventure of their loved ones' golden sunset years. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with us and "The Grandmas"!

Flowers and Chocolates and Lasagna, Oh My!

Happy Belated Valentine's Day! Like always, our day was filled with chocolate goodies and beautiful flowers (which I can't wait to dry!). Hope yours was as "sweet" as ours was.

Beautiful rose and tulip bouquet from Mrs. Patty!

Mrs. Linda stopped by to spread some love

Vanessa made a special light lunch

Since Dad had to go to school on Valentine's Day, he sent us flowers through the mail...

Sweet as a cupcake...

Grandma Lorry celebrated 84 years of life on February 11th. We had a fun little party with her niece and nephew-in-law, Kathi and Dave!

Spending quality time together

Thank you, Mrs. Patty for the gourmet cheeses, crackers and bread! They were a nice addition to the party.

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday, dear Lorry

Happy Birthday to you!

Two & Twenty and Nineteen

Vanessa and I had our birthdays at the beginning of February and both opted for cheesecake desserts :). Dad and Mom surprised us with a gift basket getaway for the weekend and my was it a nice birthday present! We did get pictures of breakfast in bed, however I know you will thank me for not putting them here :).

Cutting the cake

Yuuummmm

Here is the awesome gift basket Dad and Mom gave us girls: massage for two, movie money, two night hotel stay, goodies and My Utmost for His Highest journals

The next day was actually not Vanessa's birthday, but since we were going to be gone to our hotel getaway Fri, Sat and Sun (Fri being V's birthday) we decided to have her party on the 7th!

Original Cheesecake with strawberry garnish, anyone?

Johanna absolutely LOVES birthdays. That's why she's in pretty much all of our pictures (especially when it's cake time ;)

Blowin' them out

Bon appetit!

The next morning Johanna was my helper as we prepared Vanessa's breakfast-in-bed

We didn't get any pictures while we were out so we could really just enjoy a peaceful weekend.

Next up, Grandma Lorry's birthday!
