Welcome! We are a Christian family who cares for elderly individuals in our home. There are so many quotes, stories, and photos that we wanted to share with our precious "Golden Girls'" families, which they could view quicker and could be updated easier on this blog than we would ever have time (and memory!) to share with them personally. We also thought others might enjoy reading and viewing along with the families on this great adventure of their loved ones' golden sunset years. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with us and "The Grandmas"!

la vie est pleine (life is busy)

Hi folks! I don't know about you, but around here life has really picked up in speed! The biggest event for us was our fun, five-day trip to San Antonio (post coming soon!) that all seven of us just returned from. But beyond that, what's been keeping us on our toes with everyday life?

Well let's see, the Grandmas have been enjoying life and each other, meeting new people and sharing their love with us; day times are full and we all enjoy getting together in the evening for dinner, sitting down as a family to good food and fun discussions!

Dad has been studying Greek (crazy hard- it's Greek to me!) with six-hour walks almost every day while he memorizes, as well as lots of in-office reading and parsing sentences (I think :D) as well as fitting in occasional carpentry jobs.

Mom has kept so very busy with the many tasks that come with being the R.N., wife and mom; constantly researching health symptoms/remedies, sending/receiving calls from various other health care providers, being an amazing help-meet for Dad and training us girls in the beautiful art of domestic engineering.

Johanna has been busy with 1st grade (yipee!), soaking up so much from what she learns in regular studying as well as the countless life lessons that come her way; she also loves playing with the Grandmas (balloon-toss, nurse/patient, reading, word search finding, etc.). Johanna is such a sweet five year old and we are so grateful to the Lord for bringing her into our lives!

Vanessa is learning so much with home management and keeping our home in working order; I know how difficult it is being the oil for the clockwork in our home, so believe me when I say it's hard - and Vanessa's doing an awesome job staying on top of everything (even with the laundry monster chasing her each week!).

I have been doing a lot of studying (eighty-five credit hours down and only a billion left to go -that's exaggeration, people!) and computer/phone fixing (for some reason technology and I haven't been getting along very well of late).

Now that I've given you the scoop on us all, please bear with me as I gather and organize pictures into posts for you! I'm currently working on our High Tea, Johanna's 1st Dentist Visit, July 4th and Trip to San Antonio (as well as various random posts). So stay tuned!
