Welcome! We are a Christian family who cares for elderly individuals in our home. There are so many quotes, stories, and photos that we wanted to share with our precious "Golden Girls'" families, which they could view quicker and could be updated easier on this blog than we would ever have time (and memory!) to share with them personally. We also thought others might enjoy reading and viewing along with the families on this great adventure of their loved ones' golden sunset years. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with us and "The Grandmas"!

Φεβρουάριος (February) IV

Happy Valentine's Day!

Lovely flowers from the famous Chef Jacque Venoille! (see below for details)

I *heart* you! Vanessa and Johanna worked on some Valentine crafts

Conversations with Grandma Margarete

She looks very amused

Two happy ladies

When Margarete poses she looks so natural

A special Valentine's dinner for the ladies

Everyone was wearing their reds...

...and pinks!

Yum

Dessert time!

Another craft the girls made...isn't it cute?

Later that night, Chef Jacque Venoille, Dad's "friend" from Paris, flew in for a special dinner

All fancied up! (we had to wait in another room while the Chef prepared a surprise dinner

The Chef! :D

Welcoming us to our seats...

...which he decorated himself...we were very impressed

"Sparkling juice for the ladies?"

He had so much Parisian culture

The tie reminded us a lot like the one Dad has worn every Valentine's Day

We asked to get a picture with this famous Chef...and he obliged us

Johanna: "Is it real?"
Chef Jacque Venoille: "Don't touch the moustache!"

Relaxing by the fire

He looked so familiar, we just couldn't put our finger on who he reminded us of

After an amazing dinner of salad, breadsticks, shrimp cocktail, linguini alfredo and ribeye steaks on a skewer (in addition to little sweets decorating the table), we had an appetizer of candies before dessert

Getting full!

We finished the five-course meal with coffee and hand-dipped chocolate covered strawberries!

Oh my, were they good

So many toppings to choose from

The Chef even took a picture with Mom...

...and couldn't resist (we had to promise not to tell Dad ;)

Group shot with the famous Parisian Chef before he had to catch a flight back home

Dad returned soon after Chef Jacque Venoille left and ate all the leftovers from our fancy dinner (it was almost 10 by that time!)

Johanna made a Valentine's gift for the Chef...

And pretty pictures for Mom

It appears that Chef Jacque Venoille left behind his assistant!

Below is a video from the Valentine's Banquet...

That's it for February! March madness is on its way...
