Welcome! We are a Christian family who cares for elderly individuals in our home. There are so many quotes, stories, and photos that we wanted to share with our precious "Golden Girls'" families, which they could view quicker and could be updated easier on this blog than we would ever have time (and memory!) to share with them personally. We also thought others might enjoy reading and viewing along with the families on this great adventure of their loved ones' golden sunset years. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with us and "The Grandmas"!

Memories of March

Hello there, dear friends!  Hope you're all enjoying this beautiful April weather as much as we are!  You know that it's getting warmer when mom has mentioned the Arboretum a few times...a good place to get out and about, enjoy the refreshing weather and sight-see some lovely gardens.  This will be a busy month for us here, so I hope to be able to still keep up with you all here. :)

Ah, but let's get on with this post, and not get too far ahead of ourselves, shall we?? As the title states, here is a bucket-load of memories in picture form from last month.  Enjoy!

Dad made Johanna her very own desk
(since everyone else had one, you know :o)

Us girls went to celebrate Grandpa's (...27th?) birthday

...tested out our sniffers on the "new shoe" smell of birthday slippers

...had sweet sister time on our way to dinner

...had Grandma/Granddaughter snuggle time

Back at the house, we enjoyed Grandma Junebug's excitement over being reunited with her sixty-some year old typewriter

...which lovely Mrs. Linda and Mr. Vic brought on a Sunday

...and the mischievous blue-eyed wee lass with the funky scarf was there too

...playing "you're talking to your mom" with Grandma June

...lots of smiles

...and Johanna giving a free demonstration for Mr. Vic
on how to write numbers in sugar

Back at the very beginning of March, we went on a cabin trip

Little Miss Studious kept to her studies...
Saxon Algebra, anybody? No, not the Anglo-Saxons :o)

We colored our names with chalk...backwards

...while the grannies looked on and wondered what to do with the yellow play-dough Johanna gave them

We made snicker-doodles...but didn't post a picture of the finished product in order to protect your keyboard from a drool-bath

We rested, did not sleep; a very important distinction

The fur-ball certainly had a lot of attention

We enjoyed campfires and s'mores on the deck

Grandma "D" and Grandma June
enjoyed the sun and breeze at noon
sharing swing in good friendship
painting color to their lips

We enjoyed wonderful conversation with lovely Mrs. Ellen

Sweet ladies from Mr. and Mrs. Vic's church made and gave
these beautiful Spring daisies to the grandmas

We had  wonderful visits with Mrs. Kathi

...with loads of smiles and conversations

and sweet pea certainly made her way into the fellowship

Grandma "D" received a gorgeous hand-made necklace
from her good friend, Priscilla

And the wee lass with her brand spankin' new desk, which was promptly placed in the office so she could study right alongside Dad :o)

Well, thanks for stopping by folks!  More to come in the future (uhh, that is the near future...we hope... ;)
