Welcome! We are a Christian family who cares for elderly individuals in our home. There are so many quotes, stories, and photos that we wanted to share with our precious "Golden Girls'" families, which they could view quicker and could be updated easier on this blog than we would ever have time (and memory!) to share with them personally. We also thought others might enjoy reading and viewing along with the families on this great adventure of their loved ones' golden sunset years. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with us and "The Grandmas"!

Valley Visit

Last Friday we were so blessed to have been able to travel to the tip of Texas to attend the memorial service of one of our dear residents, who passed away peacefully on October 10th at 5:20 a.m.  It was a beautifully glorious time of celebration of the saints, as we rejoiced with her, her family, and friends in this homecoming to Heaven.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones. ~ Psalm 116:15

While we were down  there we decided to squeeze in a quick visit to South Padre Island for some memorable family fun (the amusing thing is, the drive there and back took ninety minutes, while our beach-time lasted only thirty)!

Heading back to our stomping grounds, South Padre Island!

Although we all brought extra clothing for the beach, we didn't realize yet another pair would be helpful for the flight back?  So, if you had been there, you might have had the benefit (or is that detriment?) of watching a five membered, soaked, sandy, and hair touseld family enter the airport.  Well, at least no one can deny that we had a blast at the beach!!

Kaitlin, Dad, & Mom enjoying the fresh, salty sea breeze.

Here's our lovely mother, still child at heart, collecting sea shells.

Your's truly!

Johanna was a bit scared of the angry waves, however "braved it out" for a quick snapshot with Dad!

The wind-blown clan minus our man.

We had a fantastic (yet cold & wet) time!

The flight to the Valley and visit to the beach were a huge milestone for our sweet little Johanna as they were her first.  She did well and definately had fun.  We are so grateful to have been given that mini vacation and are, of course, back in the swing of things, living our lives, learning each day, and loving our Lord.

Johanna Joy, definitely a gift from the Lord!

"Are we there yet?" (We aren't even in the air yet!) :)

Sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters...

They raise their voices, they shout for joy; they cry out
from the west concerning the majesty of the Lord. ~ Isaiah 24:14

"Look at those white things!  Are they pillows?"

The heavens declare His righteousness, and all the peoples have seen His glory. ~Psalm 97:6

Necessity calls! (See the welcome sign?)

"Starbucks! Good ol' Starbucks!"

"Sand in my eyes, nose, hair, and feet...What's not to like about the beach?!"

If I rise on the wings of the dawn, or land on the most distant shore of the sea
where the sun sets, even there Your hand will lead me, and Your
right hand will lay hold of me. ~ Psalm 139: 10
