Welcome! We are a Christian family who cares for elderly individuals in our home. There are so many quotes, stories, and photos that we wanted to share with our precious "Golden Girls'" families, which they could view quicker and could be updated easier on this blog than we would ever have time (and memory!) to share with them personally. We also thought others might enjoy reading and viewing along with the families on this great adventure of their loved ones' golden sunset years. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with us and "The Grandmas"!

Rainy Day Conversation...

So, here is the first update on us "Sunny" folks here!

Well, today's yet another cold, rainy day here.  The Gaither Vocal Band is keeping us company and adding some "beat" to our day.

Helen has had her nurse visit, June has had her shower...

June & Helen, respectively.

Mom is doing some major carpet cleaning in Junebug's room - moving beds, desks, chairs, and the like.

Who can find a virtuous woman?  for her price is far above rubies. ~Proverbs 31:10

Vanessa is sitting beside me diligently accomplishing some Saxon Algebra 1/2 while chomping away at her "mental food" (or chewing gum).
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men. ~Colossians 3:23

Johanna?  Well, she's making her rounds, visiting with Grandma M., dancing to the GVBand for her other two Grandmas, and occasionally making her way into our room to check in on her sisters.  Oh, and did I mention our little girl has (so far) changed her clothing four times?  I know, I know, when I was her age I did the same thing...It's just that she's growing up so fast! :(

Our lovely grandmother & cuddly sis.

Anyhow... me?  Well, I have the pinto beans soaked (thanks to Mom), rinsed, and sifted through, and which are now on the stove (I probably need to check them).  We'll have some delicious authentic mexican Charro Beans on the table tonight with hot, sweet, corn muffins.  Quite appropriate for this otherwise dreary day, wouldn't you agree?

She is like merchant ships; she brings her food from afar. ~Proverbs 31:14
...Well, the local supermarket, actually... Someday, perhaps??:)

Signing off!
