Alright, folks. So here's a smorgasbord of snippets into our blessed but busy December days {and no, I'm not going for the-most-random-sentence-of-alliteration award}.
We have all been relatively healthy, only one hospital visit {praise the Lord, Grandma Lorry is feeling better} and a few sniffles and raspy throats, just enough to remind us to take our vitamins, wash our hands, and be grateful for the health the Lord has blessed our home with thus far.
Hope your New Year is blessed!
We had smiling faces and Play-dough fun...
...lots of it.
Our little "honey bunches" has really gotten into the groove of helping with laundry...
...and the (ahem) coveted chore of "Garbage Lady".
And this would be Dad after an evening of fun/school/Bible time with Johanna...who just so happens to have disappeared for the picture...or maybe he's been sleeping the whole time...hmmm.
The ladies in red and yellow had plenty of time to relax, sit back and...color.
I made some chicken potpie using the recipe from William-Sonoma, a gift from Grandma "D"s daughter
Kathy.
Doin' the Do
perfection..technique..concentration.
The hostess with the mostest, posing with her kitchen and it's utensils.
I used our dehydrator for the first time in anticipation of making beef jerky later on.
Vanessa and the Bean...in the morning...one reading, the other...well, she's there for moral support.
The real us in the morning...coffee, blankets, wild hair, eyes still partially closed...yup.
Snuggly-buggly time!
Here are Grandma D and Johanna Banana comparing and critiquing what Consumer Report has to offer.
The lovely centerpiece from Mike and Barb, Grandma D's son and daughter-in-love.
John and Bette, Junebug's brother-in-law and his lovely wife stopped by Christmas Eve to brighten everyone's day.
It was so kind of you all to take time out of your busy schedule to visit with Junebug and bring her that wonderful sweater!
Like mother, like daughter: the always-smiling Mrs. Linda...
...and her wonderful husband, Mr. Vic, brought their sunshine with them for Christmas Eve.
We then had our cookie baking...
...Dad and Mom continued the sugar cookie wars...
...Moi, attempting to be creative with my frosting
Mother dear, mixing up a batch of 3-layer sandwiches
The cookie artist putting the first layer on
...yumminess!
...Johanna's cookie...hmm, how should I describe it? Colorful? Artistic? Creative?
Bella Bean was just layin' around while we did all the work
Having some cuddle time with Grandma Lorry...
...more cuddling!
From New Year's Eve
And...last but not least, guess who lost her first tooth??
Well folks, that wraps up December as well as the year 2011! We're looking forward to what the Lord has for us all this new year.
Love, Kaitlin for the rest of us
