Welcome! We are a Christian family who cares for elderly individuals in our home. There are so many quotes, stories, and photos that we wanted to share with our precious "Golden Girls'" families, which they could view quicker and could be updated easier on this blog than we would ever have time (and memory!) to share with them personally. We also thought others might enjoy reading and viewing along with the families on this great adventure of their loved ones' golden sunset years. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with us and "The Grandmas"!

May I introduce to you...

Grandma Ruth!

Ruth has been with us as of March 13th, and has been such a delight to add to our household.  She and June are "roommates" (as Junebug so excitedly announces to all :) and are enjoying getting to know one another.

A nurturing heart (once a mamma, always a mamma).

Ms. Ruth has such a lovely Southern drawl..."Well, I declare!"...

Of course, the Johanna-in-bed-with-Grandma tradition!

Sharing an expressive moment together.

We are so grateful to the Lord for His bringing yet another dear one to us to love and care for.  We are truly blessed.

Sister Twister

The other night Johanna and I were feeling energetic and giddy - two terms which for us require the immediate need to let 'em out; especially when it's almost bedtime!  So while Mom and Vanessa were laying the Grandmas down, we searched the house for something to tire us out...and after a most uneventful game of "knock the dominoes down", Jorgie Porgie (aka Johanna :) had the keen idea of playing a round of Twister!  And that we did...

I love making up placement calls in order to watch her stretch far, get tucked beneath her own limbs, and all the while make the most amusing facial grimaces. :)...one day she'll figure it out, but for now... lol :)

Hope you're having a fantastic Friday!

Was this planned?? ...and no, Dad's glasses are only for reading :)
Mr. River Dancer graciously taking time out for a picture

Blessings to you all from the Lord's abounding gift of Hope and Joy!!!  Giving thanks and praises to the Lord for His unfathomable sacrifice on the cross, humbling burial in a tomb, and power of His saving resurrection!!!

Wednesday's Class

Wednesday we had a CPR class here with some friends.  A big "Thank you!" to Ms. Michelle for your wonderful teaching and the patience in which you answered our never-ending questions! :)  It was so good to review the many techniques and steps in Heimlich and CPR.  Below are pictures of our afternoon class...(sorry the lighting is so poor).
