Welcome! We are a Christian family who cares for elderly individuals in our home. There are so many quotes, stories, and photos that we wanted to share with our precious "Golden Girls'" families, which they could view quicker and could be updated easier on this blog than we would ever have time (and memory!) to share with them personally. We also thought others might enjoy reading and viewing along with the families on this great adventure of their loved ones' golden sunset years. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with us and "The Grandmas"!

Two & Twenty and Nineteen

Vanessa and I had our birthdays at the beginning of February and both opted for cheesecake desserts :). Dad and Mom surprised us with a gift basket getaway for the weekend and my was it a nice birthday present! We did get pictures of breakfast in bed, however I know you will thank me for not putting them here :).

Here is the awesome gift basket Dad and Mom gave us girls: massage for two, movie money, two night hotel stay, goodies and My Utmost for His Highest journals

The next day was actually not Vanessa's birthday, but since we were going to be gone to our hotel getaway Fri, Sat and Sun (Fri being V's birthday) we decided to have her party on the 7th!

Original Cheesecake with strawberry garnish, anyone?

Johanna absolutely LOVES birthdays. That's why she's in pretty much all of our pictures (especially when it's cake time ;)

Blowin' them out

Bon appetit!

The next morning Johanna was my helper as we prepared Vanessa's breakfast-in-bed

We didn't get any pictures while we were out so we could really just enjoy a peaceful weekend.

Next up, Grandma Lorry's birthday!

Birthday Fish Fry

Margarete turned 89 years old on January 5th, but trying to coordinate a party around that time just didn't happen, so we finally had the party on February 1st and here is the picture collage from her birthday fish fry.

Roses always start a birthday off right

Mr. Charlie was the fish fry expert for the evening

And Mrs. Patty was the cornbread extraordinaire!

The M.s brought yummy coleslaw and there's carrot salad and tartar sauce from the T.s there too!

vaarwel, januari {goodbye, January}

January was a busy month here and even though we were kept on our toes and having a blast, I'm afraid I don't have a whole lot of photos to show for it! But what we took should bring some smiles to your screen :).

Mrs. Kathi stopped by for a wonderful visit with her Aunt Lorraine

And she brought fun gifts too!

Junebug's kiddos came by as well

And brought a candyland bingo game for us all to have fun with!

Then some of us went to our local dairy farm for a field trip

Ellie Belly :)

Mr. Jonathan is always smilin'

Look out cows, here we come!

And we attended a lovely homebirth at the end of the month!

Lots of posts on their way: Birthdays and Valentine's Day!
