Welcome! We are a Christian family who cares for elderly individuals in our home. There are so many quotes, stories, and photos that we wanted to share with our precious "Golden Girls'" families, which they could view quicker and could be updated easier on this blog than we would ever have time (and memory!) to share with them personally. We also thought others might enjoy reading and viewing along with the families on this great adventure of their loved ones' golden sunset years. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your visit with us and "The Grandmas"!

Summer Pool Party!

This past Friday we had a fun get-together with Junebug's daughter, Linda, her kids, and their kids...that's right: Grandma June has great-grandchildren!  We had fun at the pool, Mr. Geoff bringing along fun and excitement and Junebug enjoying having the power of the squirt gun!  Then headed back to the house for lunch and fellowship, followed by bead-melting fun, photo t-shirt making, an ice cream social, and fun in the backyard pool and slide.  What a fun day it was!

Our Wonderful New Caregiver

We would like to introduce to you Mrs. LaTanya, who has joined our home in the area of caregiving and will be taking care of our Grandmas for us as we get out as a family each week.  She loves the Lord and has such a devoted heart for the elderly she cares for.  LaTanya has gotten to know each of our Grandmas, their personalities and routines, in addition to the complex way our home is run.  We are so excited about our new caregiver and look forward to getting to know LaTanya more and gaining great wisdom from her 20 years of exceptional experience in caring for the elderly.

Dad's Grill

On Father's Day (yes, I know, I'm terribly late in posting this!), we took Dad out to Pappadeaux and gas grill shopping (the only type of shopping Dad gets enthusiastic about)!  After a trip to Sears, then Home Depot, and finally (and victoriously) to Lowe's, and countless calculations, tag readings, and salesperson inputs, he settled on one with a large cooking space for practicality and yet economy-wise and sustainable for our many cook-out days.

We have enjoyed a lovely little Weber charcoal grill for some years now, and thought it a nice idea to be able to cook our meats right when we needed to, instead of waiting a half hour after lighting the grill. :)  We do *so* love the charcoal flavoring, but count it worthwhile for time's sake to make good use of this new beauty (or would it be considered a beast?)

Fourth of July Fun

Hello there, folks!  Hope everyone had a delightful Independence Day celebration!  We certainly had a blast and kept busy per usual.  Here are some glimpses into our day!

Found this cheesecake recipe online...it was delicious!

We had the priviledge of having the B. family (minus Imelda...missed you!) over for our celebration party.  We had hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, baked beans, watermelon, chips, homemade cheesecake and (store-bought :) apple pie.  Talk about stuffing ourselves!

Happy 4th, Friends!!

Let the show begin!

What a trooper!

Oooohhhh!!!!

Hello there, Daddy-O!!

Aaaaahhhh!!!!

Super-Dad!

"But what do we mean by the American Revolution? Do we mean the American war? The Revolution was effected before the war commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties and obligations...This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution."
